Pros

I cannot think for any pros while working with the company. This is simpy the worst company to work for.

Cons

Synup is a startup which is never gonna take off. They treat their employees very badly. The CEO is a very arrogant person and treats employees as servants and bullies them. The higher management people assign excessive work to people which makes their lives miserable. A startup should have a culture where one enjoys working, while Synup has just the opposite. You are deemed to hate working in startups if you ever join them. Although workload is high in startups as they are building a product, but they should atleast look after the planned vacations of employees. They don't allow employees for vacations and no weekends as well for guys working at Synup. They have people who want to boss around others and dont let others do their work effectively. The guys here can blackmail you to stay late nights and come to office on weekends(even if you have completed your share of work) else they will fire you. Some guys have even left the company without a job in hand, just because they were so much frustrated with Synup and they cracked huge companies like Amazon, DE Shaw. Believe me, you will start looking for a job change the day you join Synup so better save that and dont join at all. Even if this is the last company to employ you. According to me Synup is the WORST PLACE TO WORK for in India. Simply the WORST.

Pros

There are no Pros of working here

Cons

Just to name a few: 1. Their product team is the worst you will ever come across. They are unsure of what they want to build and yet ask the teams to build it. Once the feature is built it will be discarded because it wasn't what they wanted. 2. They have no funds. They laid off 60+ people and blamed COVID-19 for their situation. The truth is they spent recklessly in expanding teams and hire VPs and SVPs who didn't do anything and eventually were fired. 3. No Growth. Promotions are based on favouritism. There won't be any hikes since they have no funds. 4. You will not add anything to your skill-set working here. The product is in bad shape. You will have to spend most of your time in either cleaning up the dirty code someone has written or write "hacks" to fix it. No learning from any peers. 5. They don't serve lunch at the office anymore in the name of COVID-19 instead admitting that they're cutting costs to keep the company from sinking. Their pantry is a joke. Once upon a time, it used to be filled with options to munch on. Now, it's just 1 or 2 snacks and a coffee machine. 6. Exploit people by underpaying the ones who do good work. 7. If you don't please the founder, you will go nowhere in this company. Being nice to him is the survival kit here.

Hi there and thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. While your review cites some struggles you are experiencing, we are happy you've chosen to remain at the company and hope we can address your issues directly. We know working collaboratively on a product is difficult and want to be sure we are assisting you and your team with any internal issues. We hope you will reach out to the PeopleOps Team at Peopleops.india@synup.com to discuss this. We are invested in developing not only a great product, but also developing our workforce. While we may need your expertise to work on aspects of our product you feel may not challenge you, we ask that you please let us know what you'd like to learn by reaching out to PeopleOps at the email above. In addition to that, we understand that Synup has gone through a difficult time with having to let go of some of our staff. It is really kind that you would offer up the salary of not only yourself, but your co-workers, to have saved the jobs of some of those we had to let go. Unfortunately, the cost of the damage done by the COVID-19 pandemic exceeded that which any other options could resolve. Leadership carefully reviewed this before making the difficult decision to let staff go. Ashwin discussed what led to the reduction in our workforce during the Town Hall in late March. We hope you were able to attend. If you weren't, or you need more clarity around why the decision was made, please reach out to the PeopleOps Team to discuss further. We are here for you. Thank you, again.

Pros

I can't think of one.

Cons

Product does not work and there has been little to no enhancements in the past year. CEO is extremely immature, arrogant, and has no idea how to lead people. The rest of upper management is afraid of him for some odd reason, and does nothing to backup their team, and get them what they need. There is absolutely no accountability in getting things done. No hesitation in firing employees without warning, despite the fact they have been given none of necessary resources to do their job successfully.
