Pros

Work from home Recruiting space - not as much of a “sales pitch and push down clients throat” Minimal micro-management. President and Vice President are extremely nice.

Cons

Could not make it longer than a week. Training was the worst I’ve experienced in my 6 years in corporate America. They give you about 2 hours in the morning and, if you’re lucky, another 2 hours in the afternoon for the first 2 to 3 days. That’s roughly 10 hours total before you’re expected to be fully ramped. There is one main trainer who is ex-military and treats you like a recruit. He has a rule that says, “I will tell you once, show you twice, and by the third time I don’t expect any more questions.” If you ask questions, he reminds you that he already told you instead of explaining it again. He also says things like “you’re killing me” when you make mistakes, even while you’re still learning the role and processes. There is also a heavy and repeated emphasis on performance benchmarks tied to termination or being moved to commission-only. This is brought up constantly, even in the first few days, and the way it’s framed feels more discouraging than motivating. After only about 10 hours of training across 3 days, you are expected to be fully ramped and ready to hit the phones. The expectations are to close 1 deal in your first month, 2 deals in your second month, and 2 more deals in your third month. If you do not hit these numbers, they can terminate you or move you to a commission-only structure. None of this was mentioned during the interview process. It is only communicated once you start, and it is reinforced daily during your first week. Overall, the company is very vague during the hiring process. The role is presented as a normal business development representative position, but it is much more complex and high-pressure than described. I realized within my first week that I was just a number, not an employee being developed for a long-term career. I turned down an offer from a very reputable company for this role and was extremely disappointed almost immediately. I feel as almost I was tricked in the recruiting process to what the actual job entailed.
