Pros

Friendly staff, nice office space. Oh, and good candy.

Cons

I worked the first day here as a full-time employee and never returned back. They market themselves as "marketing consultants," but its really a fraudulent pyramid scheme. This is an outdated door-to-door sales job. You are literally expected to use your own car and gas, drive to different subdivisions and ring random doorbells, hoping both for a "quick sale" of AT&T services (which most people either reject or already have), and also not to be yelled at or threatened for being on someone's property trying to sell, and rather aggressively might I add. You are not reimbursed or offered any incentives for your driving, walking or at least for your gas/mileage. You are expected to do this ALL day, everyday, until about 7pm. Even on Saturdays! You do not receive an hourly wage because it is 100% commission-based. The hours are 11-8 M-S. What full-time job has their employees work OVER 40 hours a week with no hourly pay? Whoever they have reviewing and responding to the reviews on here is probably going to respond saying that "I was aware of the job requirements" before I started working, but that is simply false. The first interview mentions nothing of door-to-door sales (deceptive, period), and the 2nd and 3rd are still very indirect. It isn't until your first day, where you change from professional attire to more casual clothing and go "in the field" that you realize exactly what is going on.

Pros

Very eclectic group of ambitious individuals -- the vetting process seemed to be looking for the diamond in the rough type of recruits; if you're looking for your next sales break, I'm sure you can find it here. The tools necessary to become successful in sales are here, you just have to want it and know how to use it to your own benefit.

Cons

How bad do you want to sale? Are you willing to sacrifice? Well, I advise you to do your best at ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Unlike many other sales companies, TL Direct expects you to cover the cost of EVERYTHING. Business trip time! Don't accept the offer too quick, because you may just be spending a 2-bed room with 4 strangers that you've met only once before. I don't know how you feel about sleeping with strangers, but I'd rather not. Don't expect food to be covered, even if that was apart of the "business trip" deal. You'll quickly find that omission is a common custom in this work environment. Although our gas and car is being used to complete our job, it is NOT reimbursed or exchanged with incentives. There are no perks for being employed here. Furthermore, during training there was no mention of payment rates or any material listing how and when we would get paid (i'm not sure, but felt that this was one of their employee retention tactics). When confronted, they react as though i was speaking a foreign language. They were very swift to cover their tracks with their poised sales skills (lies and excuses to placate me, yet did the opposite because they lack interpersonal skills and compassion), so kudos for them.

Reviewer, Worst work experience? Goodness, we think that might be a stretch considering there are people in impoverished countries who work for pennies a day but we understand you're going for theatrics here. We're happy to accept advice for improvement and thank you for your feedback regarding how we can strengthen our organization. We think there's always room for betterment in that arena. Saying that you were omitted information, though, is another stretch for us Ms.Blair. You sat down through a new hire orientation that covered pay, hours, bonuses, etc, and signed your name agreeing you understood everything. There are no tracks to cover, we have all of your employment files on hand. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors. Sincerely, TL Direct Management Team
