Pros

TAXI Independent A&R truly stands out as a music company because of how deeply they care about their members and how much the head boss cares for his employees. It’s clear that their mission goes beyond simply reviewing music and providing opportunities for musicians to take or leave, they actively advocate for their community and work hard to connect artists with real, meaningful industry opportunities. The leadership sets the tone from the top. The CEO is refreshingly honest and fair, operating with a level of transparency that’s rare in this industry. He genuinely wants people to succeed and takes the time to mentor and support those he works with, whether they’re artists, A&R screeners, or internal team members. What’s especially impressive is the openness to growth. TAXI isn’t stuck in its ways despite having been around for 34+ years, there’s a real willingness to evolve, listen, and improve, all while maintaining integrity and respect for its members. If you’re looking for an organization that values people, leads with honesty, is tight-knit and family-owned, and truly invests in helping not only creatives move forward in this industry, but also its employees learn and take on new projects, TAXI Independent A&R delivers.

Cons

None to report, see above, great company and owner is very understanding, smart, has years of experience, and takes the time to mentor those who are willing to put in the work and commit to the company! His mentorship completely changed my career path into music marketing and he still is a dear friend to this day, years after I last worked at TAXI.

Pros

Loved that it's a small company, everyone knows each other, the head boss is wonderful and has lots of years of experience behind him. They are still like a family to me. :)

Cons

Sometimes it can get very busy with the different TAXI members calling us on the phone in the afternoon, or towards closing time, but they have a good system where most people at the company help pick up lines to avoid an overflow of calls on one person.

Pros

I had a great experience working at TAXI; everyone on the staff was really nice when I was there. This is a great company to work for if you’re interested in a music career, as TAXI works with nearly every type of music-company (record labels, music publishers, music libraries, music supervisors). TAXI also hosts a music conference every year where they put you up in a hotel for 3 nights. The hours are reasonable and the vacation/sick time/insurance package is very generous. I made so many great business contacts and friendships through working at TAXI. The CEO is super-nice and is a great resource if you’re eager to learn about the music business. Overall, this is a great company to work for and can definitely help open doors if you’re interested in pursuing a music career.

Cons

It can get really busy before the annual music conference; however, I was never asked to work excessive overtime hours
