Pros
Working hours 8-5 M-F, some on-call required for some positions. Some talented people working there, good opportunity for on the job learning if in the right department. Good benefits, free service to full-time employees. A nice annual holiday bonus.
Cons
Not a great work culture, there's a communication disconnect between management and staff, and between different departments. Not a lot of opportunities for advancement or growth, most position changes are a lateral move and might not come with a pay raise. Moving away from remote positions, requiring people to work in office. Some positions experience a lot of turnover; there's a staffing struggle and loss of knowledge due to it. Nepotism is an issue, no active anti-nepotism policy.
