Pros

Some of the people are lovely, flexi hours, nice office although cold at times

Cons

Where do I start… You have to clock in and out to make sure you do your exact hours No sick pay - as in yes it gets docked, so everyone comes in and infects you instead 21 days holiday - and they think it’s a ‘benefit’ to increase it by 1 every year despite every other company offering 25 as a start Some WFH but has to be pre approved and only if not too many people are doing it No holiday or WFH allowed from October until after Christmas so yes you have to work Christmas Eve Family owned business where the family basically get away with anything despite knowing nothing e.g they will be away for Christmas but you can’t be Some of them will also talk to you as if they’ve ran every business ever despite only ever working there… For some reason there is loads of directors and heads of to ‘implement strategies’ but they hire no one at the bottom to actually execute them Insanely low salaries compared to market Absolutely no training, development, mid year reviews provided, no clear HR processes in place No bonus’s ever - company’s sets silly high KPIs they’ll never achieve so will blame that on lack of bonus Insanely high KPIs also mean all functions literally turn on each other and it’s all a big finger pointing game rather than actually figuring out how to collaboratively work together People are actively rude about each other - amount of insults and yelling I’ve seen was insane Company a bit too obsessed and reliant with AI - yes we should be using it but not writing emails with chat GPT

nothing. hours are unreliable and get cut without notice.

Cons

Terrible place to work, exploit young people, hours so unstable and can get cut at any minute and this gets put over your head. If you have any issues HR will ignore emails & not sit in discussion, just a badly ran company from top to bottom. Rely on young people being on shop themselves lone trading for hours while serving customers, clean the whole shop including to a high standard, bank money and deal with any future sales or virtual merchandising changes even though you get paid till shop shuts regardless of never getting out the shop bang on closing time as tills don’t immediately shut off. If fail to complete this management will give you a hard time l even though they don’t do this as they don’t help do closing shifts majority of week so don’t know what it is like. Was regularly expected to come in on my own time to collect keys ect regardless of the shop not being close by and not getting payed for the journey.
