Pros
Decent pay, exposure to work opportunities outside of your title, friendly colleagues, good office snacks
Cons
Where to even start? I guess I'll just say it all: - Unfocused objectives: One quarter all attention will be on one product or division, you pour all your time and energy into it, then they'll discontinue or deprioritize it two months later before the results even have a chance to materialize - Bi-weekly town halls where you're asked to bring your "elephant in the room" questions, except they have a long line of exceptions to questions you can ask, so people just ask pointless ones - Products stay at MVP (minimum viable product) level long after they go to market, and very little effort or resources are made to improve or support any product post-launch - Long lines of broken promises (pay/benefits/new products, etc.) - Years without raises/bonuses, title changes/promotions with no pay increases - Senior managers are clueless to anything happening on the ground level - Heavy turnover, whether naturally or through layoffs that defy logic - No meals/per diem when traveling for work - No 401k match - No HR department to speak of - Near zero diversity, and no attempt or desire to diversify
