Cons

Be aware with this company. My overall experience with TLC Engineering Solutions was extremely disappointing and raised several ethical and professional concerns. Although the company operates legally, in my view many of its internal practices felt highly unethical and inconsistent with what I would expect from an engineering organization. During my time there, I worked on several major projects, including confidential work and full design packages that I was told I would be signing and sealing. However, shortly before final delivery, I was unexpectedly removed from a project I had designed from start to finish, and the work was reassigned to someone who had not been involved in the design process. This raised serious questions for me about professional credit, engineering ethics, and how authorship of technical work is handled. During my employment, I also became increasingly uncomfortable with what I perceived as unusual and intrusive behavior from certain individuals affiliated with the company, such as closely monitoring my movements in the office and even following me to shared areas, including the restroom. One incident involving what I personally felt were inappropriate comments from a manager made me question the professionalism of some personnel. In addition, I felt that attempts were made to access my personal devices, and I noticed behaviors that made me believe I was being monitored both in person and online. I raised these privacy concerns with HR, but in my experience, they were disregarded. Because of these experiences, I filed formal reports with appropriate agencies documenting my concerns. When my employment ended, I was offered a separation agreement whose terms raised even more concerns. These were the terms I personally found troubling, including: • Releasing the company from virtually all claims, even those unknown at the time, • Stating that I had “no knowledge of any misconduct,” despite the concerns I had already raised, • Allowing the company to notify future employers if they believed I breached the agreement, • A waiver of the right to a jury trial The agreement reinforced my view that the company’s priorities and ethics did not align with what I believe a professional engineering firm should uphold. My experiences left me with serious concerns about transparency, ethics, workplace culture, and fairness. I want to share my experience because this is something that could happen to anyone. Based on what I went through, I encourage others to be cautious and make sure they fully understand the company’s practices before getting involved. Always protect yourself, ask questions, and be aware of what you are signing or agreeing to.
