Cons
Pay is low and progression is harder than it should be for people who are consistently achieving a lot. Managers are discouraged from giving "too much" positive feedback on the basis that it might make people expect financial reward. Part timers are discouraged from senior leadership positions Over emphasis on timesheets and billable utilisation is demoralising and demotivating. Billable work always trumps development work and leads to staff working on things outside of their area of expertise and interest. Managing director does not appreciate how power dynamics work between managers and their reports and expects staff to directly challenge problematic behaviors regardless of power differentials and potential negative impact on themselves.
