Not Great - if you have a choice, don't choose them

Pros

A good place to start for trainees, first years and junior support staff due to high expectation on quality and accuracy of work. This will train the them to have an eye for detail, organized and handle work pressure well. That's the only good thing I guess.

Cons

Leadership team demonstrates very little respect and empathy towards their staff in general. Very archaic leadership and management methods. The partner walked around the office to note down when the employees report to work or leave the office. Not sure if she still does but she surely did during the years I was there. They will be upset if you leave on time although there are no urgent, outstanding work for that day. They believe the longer hours you put in, the better you are an employee. Who thinks like that anymore in this day and age? They do. Their office + company website may look all modern and pretty but the way they run the firm, their HR practices is ridiculous.

Pros

Pays above market rate Nice pantry but lousy coffee

Cons

Horror stories where good working employees get fired for no reason. Other staff got pay cut and spoken to to reduce bonus payout. Only thing to learn is filing, seriously. Attendance at work equates to good performance and commitment - doesn’t matter if your work quality is poor, as long as attendance is stellar. Time in and out of office are tracked and monitored. One of the Management partners will scream and bark out loud in office if there are too many warehousing boxes around your desk, if the office painting is slanted in the office and at the reception. Bonus payout is in January (60%) and June (40%) instead of December. Official knock off time is 5.30pm, but email is out discouraging going off on time even if you complete your day’s work. Spend so much on photo shoot, video shoot, and website.

Bad Leadership

Pros

Nice colleagues especially the Secretaries. Willing to guide us along the way. Lawyers are friendly and young (understanding).

Cons

Management are real disaster. They don't know how to keep hardworking staff. They only concern towards their Lawyers. Especially during this Covid where the cases has been increase everyday, the Management only suggest the Lawyers to WFH but the secretaries and staff need to be in the office.
