Pros

It is a job in Gainesville

Cons

Supervisor wrote me up for not staying to work another shift when they signed me up to work and I refused. Had to sign the disciplinary form even though the info was not true. The director was in the room with us patiently waiting for me to sign the form. How intimidating is that? I felt that between both of them, I had no choice but to sign that form. I wish that I had not been so scared. Very frightening place to work. You are always bullied by everyone else who has power over you. It is exhausting and scary, trying to stand up for yourself in this place everyday. If you stay, you have no choice but to continue to work all these double shifts. It is very unsafe but no one cares if you are exhausted or if you have a life outside of work. Turnover rate is very high so they are constantly short and you will have to work or be written up.

Pros

The personal experiences of sharing in the lives of the people who live at Taca is very rewarding. Every day is a little different. Every day the residents will bring laughter and sometimes tears to my life. I work with mostly good staff and other great nurses. I enjoy the challenges of caring for these wonderful residents that I have grown to love. No parking fees, park in front of the building you are working in. Walk outside on a beautiful campus if you want to. We have a cafeteria on campus and a cantene to purchase food.

Cons

The challenges of having to stay over and work another 8 hours after my shift is over. We don't have extra money in the budget for extra nurses. We take turns and are assigned a day to stay over, if someone does call off, for the next shift. We do work short of nurses when people are out on vacation or sick.

Not for professionals.

Pros

If you are desperate for a job and will accept anything this is the place for you. This is NOT a place for professional development. No real skills required other than agreeing with everything you are told.

Cons

Very toxic - disrespectful culture. High turn over. Dirty facilities. Import any things do not matter but the unimportant things are exaggerated. Low pay. Ghetto atmosphere. Lots of uneducated staff. No cameras for safety, paper documentation, slave culture.
