Too many changes and good associates let go

Pros

Tacony was always a great company. Company funded Pension / Profit sharing was great!

Cons

2016 was the year the changes started with a new CEO , computer system that was and still is a nightmare. The company had many associates with many many years of hard work experience and loyalty to them. Changes kept being made up to today and good people were let go for no reason, some with a severance and a lot with nothing. Divisions were shut down, warehouses shut down and many lost their jobs and had family's to support. When you are with a company for 20-30 + years, where do you find another job at that age making same or more money? It was and is truly a CRYING shame !

Tacony is still a great company which focuses on the needs of our people, customers, and the long-term success of the business. Decisions which affect our people are never made lightly or without compassion. It’s true, with new leadership comes changes to keep up with customer and industry demand. We’re thankful we have a CEO and leadership team with years of experience to successfully, and compassionately, lead us through these changes. None of this would be possible without the trust in, and the dedication of our Tacony family of associates to strengthen the company while still securing hundreds of jobs worldwide. It is unfortunate when a portion of business is no longer a fit, but what makes us different is that we don't toss the business or the people aside. We have gone to great lengths to find that segment a new home where it does fit and thrives. Furthermore, the current pandemic is not being used as an excuse, but it’s certainly been a factor in decision-making this year, as for many companies around the world. We’re fortunate we have been able to pivot and still show success in a time when so many companies have not. Thank you for your years of service and for your feedback and wish you well in future endeavors.

Pros

Good Products and Associates in Rank & File that have tried to keep company on right path.

Cons

CEO and Leadership Team have minimal to no experience. Recently parted ways with company after a being with Tacony for double digit years. Unfortunately, the leadership team which was hand-picked by CEO has minimal experience, and is driven by emotion and not any long-term strategy which doesn’t bode well in today’s pre or post Covid environment. Everything is driven by monthly goals and comp plans that frequently change and not in the favor of the employee. There are a number of dedicated individuals in the everyday rank and file who still do the right thing which is what keeps the place running. This said, more talent has left in past few years than what remains, hence why all the openings. The experienced senior leaders with integrity and strategic insights who led the sales and marketing efforts and other functional areas through the record years of Tacony, have all since left in the past 12 months which was a signal for the rest of us the leadership group was not aligned and those who were capable business leaders moved on as they were tired of the sniping from the other newer players. Outlook is not encouraging, as it might be the first time in decades the company falls out of top 150 STL based privately held companies.

Leadership at Tacony has seen changes and as with any such change, we have experienced some turnover and a new growth mindset. Our leadership team is using their many years of experience, along with insights from all levels of the organization, to move Tacony into a more centralized and responsive company with a fresh new outlook, well equipped to grow and thrive in today’s business environment. We’ve invested significant resources in Research and Development as well as Human Resources to nurture our commitment to building trust, accountability, and an exceptional customer experience. We are emerging from this time of change a stronger, more strategic, and more focused company than ever before and we’re excited for our future. Thank you for your feedback and your years of service with Tacony.

We couldn’t disagree with you more. Led by a CEO with more than 25 years of experience at all levels of the business, and a team of passionate leaders and employees, Tacony is successfully navigating the business environment and poised for long-term growth. The hardest test we could have imagined was placed on us when the global pandemic hit but the combined experience and tireless efforts of the entire Tacony community has proven we are resilient and led by a team that trusts our people to get things done. There have been changes and tough decisions made over the last few years, but they have set us up to meet the needs of our customers and the industry together. Thank you for your feedback.
