Pros

NONE NONE NONE NONE NONE

Cons

They charge their clients $150+ for resumes and only pay their writers $20-$28. The resumes require extensive rewrites, research, back and forth with the clients, and even an experienced resume writer can't do one in less than 3 hours. New writers must send their first three resumes through Quality Assurance which sends them back for rewrites over and over and if your QA person changes from one to another midstream (which it usually does) you will get different comments from different QA people. THIS IS A SCAM. After I quit, they emptied out my "account" like I'd never been there and never even got in touch with me at all.

Thank you for your review. We recognize there are some projects that can be significantly more complex than the standard resume it is assumed for the writing process. Since your review we have implemented a number of tools to make the writing process quicker and more effective and we are looking into ways to better segment levels of complexity. While there will always be aspects to improve on, please know that our intention is to provide a great service to our customers while providing a really positive experience to everyone in our network. Feel free to contact me directly at armando.roman@talentinc.com - Happy to discuss this in more detail.

Pros

There is usually work available (sometimes this isn't necessarily a pro because they impose tight deadlines).

Cons

Shockingly low pay. $20 for a resume that could take hours. $5 for a cover letter. It's insane. The company also sends out tons of surveys asking for feedback. Writers always say that they want higher pay and are always totally ignored, although the company says that they take feedback into account (they don't when it comes to pay).

Pros

working from anywhere, extra cash is nice, but they pay only once a month.

Cons

They expect you to do a TON of editing, research, formatting, writing, etc. which takes hours for $28. I've been working on a single project for 3 weeks because of a non-responsive, entitled customer. Customers pay $100's of dollars so of course they expect that I'M getting paid that much. Who is getting all of this money when I am doing all of the work?!

Thank you for your note. I agree that compensation can be difficult and not aligned with the level of efforts in some cases, given the level of variability that exists in different projects. We are working on better assessing complexity and segmenting that appropriately so that we can compensate accordingly. This is one of various changes we will be implementing in the next several weeks. Feel free to contact me at armando.roman@talentinc.com in case you want to discuss this further.
