      Pros

      Directors and lower level management are very knowledgeable of their products. Those individuals are caring and doing their best to make improvements in the culture and products.

      Cons

      -Complete disconnect between executives and the rest of the company. -Lack of communication, vision and continuity across the company. -No room for advancement. -Old technology with no path of innovation. -Toxic political environment.

      Flexible hours, casual environment, free soda

      Cons

      No growth opportunities, low morale due to new management, low salary, raises and cost of living increases are unheard of

      I am happy to say that much has changed since your post. Our system has been built out, we have new products, our compensation policies have changed and are highly competitive, and there are many growth opportunities. It takes longer to change the attitudes of some people, but we are working on that through policy changes, company get-togethers, and increased communication between departments and teams. If you don't currently work for Talisys, we hope you will consider coming back.

      Great People and experience...needs better work/life balance

      Pros

      Talisys has countless friendly and experienced people who enthusiastically share their knowledge and expertise with others. Vast amount of Securities processing knowledge from all disciplines in the company. From the business analysis to quality assurance to engineering, database, project coordination, documentation and client support, we have highly skilled and fun people at Talisys. Good benefits package, regular Town Halls and fun annual summer picnic and Christmas party.

      Cons

      Need more formal training, especially in the newer technologies we are trying to implement. Self-training and cross-training between departments is good and important but mastery of certain skills and successful implementation of projects that require those skills is also important. Also, so much to do but not enough resources, given the strict timelines we have on many projects. No regular work-from-home policy to allow for managing family/personal issues. That said, management is very understanding about adhoc issues coming up and of course, unexpected or extreme weather conditions.
