Pros

o Above average starting salary o Good variety of content domains (e.g., finance, e-commerce) o Very nice annual party (weekend at nice hotel, group meal with open bar at fancy restaurant, spouse/partner/guest travel paid) o Apple equipment (iPhone, Macbook, iPad)

Cons

o Too much travel (can be every week) o Poor control of project scope (requires extra work and time from consultant -- sometimes without billing) o High workload o Very fast pace o Below average benefits (medical is expensive, 401(k) not matched every year) o Below average raises (went several years without a raise) o Below average bonuses (bonuses cited as compensation for no raises, but bonuses lower than industry; bonuses did not reflect the exceptional effort required on projects) o Almost no training or development (brief training at beginning to get you billing, then anything else is on your own time and dime) o Onerous project management tasks (senior consultants must use hours of personal time to set up each of their new projects; every week senior consultants have to perform very time-consuming project management tasks with poor tools) o Poor company communications (weekly nighttime status call but no mention of employees leaving or changes in company tactics; little credit for success in challenging projects; working from home can be very isolating) o Very heavy emphasis on projects in New York City (most projects and staff are there; some out-of-state consultants have to fly in every week for months at a time)

Pros

Been here less than 1 year and I am continually impressed with not only the talent and successful delivery, but the amount of repeat business, client references and reputation in the industry. I have been at both product and services companies in my career and have never seen the level of unsolicited leads that come in on either reputation or referrals from former clients, employees or analyst recommendations (Gartner, Forrester, etc.). I have also rarely seen companies walk away from opportunities because they are not the right fit. T7 does it without regret, which is why the success rate and client retention is so high. They do a significant amount of work with fortune 500 deliver with a very experienced staff of UX architects, Visual Designers and technology specialists. Majority of the team is 15+ years of relevant experience. This company operates with transparency and integrity regardless if the audience is internal employees or external clients, prospects, partners. Every company talks the talk but these guys walk the walk and live it everyday. Make no mistake, they charge a premium for their services with no gimmicks or apologies. The attitude is; if you want the best you pay for it, and in the end the high client satisfaction & retention validates the model. This has been proven year over year as the company has been profitable since its inception and is high growth mode. I really enjoy working with this team, from Sr Mgmt to the front line consultants, to back office support. No egos, simply a highly talented, collaborative team that does the right thing.

Cons

Since its essentially a mobile workforce with consultants working either at client sites, remotely or some combination, there is not a lot of opportunities to meet coworkers outside of the current project. I'd say that Work Life balance is consistent with other consulting organizations, although there is more flexibility than other places I've been. Also medical benefits are expensive, but that's more of a function our ludicrous healthcare system then an indictment on T7.

Cons

For success get a place in a fat project. No discipline of any sort. Mentors and Managers are after you.
