Rewarding Work, but Systemic Challenges Limited Success
Pros
The company provides employees with a high degree of autonomy and the freedom to move quickly without excessive bureaucracy. Decisions can be made and executed rapidly, allowing motivated employees to make a meaningful impact. Collaboration with the Israel-based team offered exposure to talented colleagues and a global perspective. The quarterly bonus program was also a positive aspect of the overall compensation package.
Cons
I worked at Taranis for nearly four years and was reluctant to write this review because it will likely be obvious to those familiar with the company who I am. My intention is not to vent or settle scores. I genuinely wanted the company to succeed and invested heavily in its success. I'm sharing this feedback because I believe prospective employees deserve an honest perspective, and because many of these issues were discussed internally for years without meaningful change. The most significant challenge was a lack of organizational accountability. A relatively small percentage of employees consistently carried the workload while poor performance often went unaddressed. Employees were frequently expected to "manage up" instead of receiving clear direction, priorities, and strategy from leadership. This created confusion, burnout, and constant firefighting. The expectations placed on employees were often unrealistic, particularly as the company continued to reduce headcount. Between 2023 and 2025, the workforce was reduced by approximately 50%, yet expectations for output, growth, and execution remained largely unchanged. Teams were routinely asked to accomplish the work of multiple people with limited resources or strategic support. From my perspective, the company's biggest challenge was not the product itself but what happened after the sale. Customer adoption, onboarding, and long-term success lacked the operational discipline and leadership needed to help customers realize the product's value. In my opinion, improving customer adoption and accountability in post-sale execution could have reduced customer churn and positively impacted the company's overall trajectory. There are talented, hardworking people at Taranis who care deeply about the mission. My hope is that leadership addresses the systemic issues around accountability, strategy, and customer success so those employees have the opportunity to be successful.
