Pros

- You grow to know and love your clients -when they succeed, their joy is infectious - You get your master's degree for very low cost and have option to have remainder of the tuition taken out of your paycheck over the semester

Cons

- Absolutely terrible work/life balance for house managers. 12 days on, 2/3 days off (if you're lucky). You accrue close to 200 hours of holiday pay and PTO that you are unable to use due to having little or no staff. - Although they pay for a good portion of your Master's degree, the stipend that is offered is very low for the amount of work expected - Favoritism from upper management - this position is contingent upon passing the graduate classes. Some individuals received grades that should have made them ineligible to continue in the program, and this was overlooked by upper management but only if you were a favored employee. - Inconsistent with company message - for a company that claims to pride itself on it's treatment of individuals with disabilities, it astounding to me how concerned they are with making sure they are public image is kept as "normal" as possible. Only certain clients are invited to company events and fundraisers, typically the high functioning clients.
