Pros

Opportunity abounds. Leadership team is genuine, authentic and very customer centric. The company is very flat with great visibility and opportunity. You have the ability to “Be the CEO of your own career.” If you want to be pushed beyond what you thought you were capable of... just raise your hand and you will receive.

Cons

There wasn’t a clear career progression in my niche area of expertise. Just a few of us in a very specialized roles across the country. I didn’t want to be stuck with a my current title forever, but there was no role above my current one and I wanted my title to reflect my level of contribution and experience. Manager>Senior>Director>VP. Thankfully the People Services :) aka: HR folks have worked very hard to help create succession plans, TM Learning internal development, and a very engaging Talent Review Process. Now I have the ability to pave the way to the next level in my career progression.

Pros

Good line employees and decent direct managers. Christmas holidays are great.

Cons

In my opinion the IT dept is not a good place to work. CIO is awful, treats group terribly. The CIO that was replaced engaged employees, took them to lunch, made them feel important, but this new one, which the CEO called 'adored' by the group, does not instill motivation or good faith in the group. Too many stories about poor behavior and instances of favoritism to those of similar religion to make you wonder what you got yourself into here. Never knew anyone that liked the CIO here, which speaks volumes. Direct managers are good but do not stand up to the CIO. The CEO is out of touch with what line employees think or chooses to ignore how things are. In either case the IT group is one of the worst departments in the company. You should not feel like you're being punished for doing a good job. Culture should come from within, not from forced daily standup meetings. Professionals should know how to conduct themselves already and should be trusted to do their jobs.

Pros

Highly competitive pay & benefits, the people who I work with are great. As long as you get your work done, they are pretty flexible.

Cons

Might be isolated case, but words are not enough, need to put your money where your mouth is and show the great employees that you want to keep them and value them as assets. Management sets unattainable goals to meet for bonus, and lacks good communication. High turnover.
