Pros

If you are someone who enjoys working long hours, talking about people behind their back or having people talk about your behind your back, feeling forced to make this job your life, then this would be a great opportunity for you. The work the company does is great but it's drowned out by the day to day hassles and obstacles of working there. During the interview, you'll think "wow this is a growing company but they all seem really nice and they want to help me grow." 6 months later you will realize that this is not the case but you'll continue trying to learn your job and get good at it. One year later you face the fact that the company has a multitude of issues and they don't want to help you to progress. Don't waste your time.

Cons

This company has so much potential but poor management has created high turnover, several annoyed clients, and no true professional development in their employees. Many of us were eager to grow with the company but the lack of constructive feedback and bandwidth to manage the teams caused several employees to leave HQ over the last 2 years. Being acquired by System One only exposed these deficiencies that have always been there. Those managing don't have bandwidth to actually manage the team and they continue to get promoted because of their time with the company.

Thank you for providing this feedback. We are sorry that you had this experience working for us. At TeamPeople, it is the expectation that our employees and freelancers collaborate for the success of the greater team and the advancement of our business and our clients’ objectives. We have an open-door policy, and we are transparent in our approach. We value authenticity, constructive feedback and a passion for the video and media industry. Our managers at HQ and at our client locations must produce results on a variety of fronts. We hear what you are saying about delegation and communication and we are taking new approaches with reporting structure and coaching so that no one feels as if they’re not supported or are left with a lasting negative impression. In the past 3 years, we have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in employee development through structured seminars, tuition reimbursement, online training, on-the-job training, industry events and memberships as well as ANSI and association certifications. Employing the tools offered requires action on the part of senior leadership, managers and individual contributors themselves. As we transform as a part of System One, the core values that made us successful will remain and we now have greater capacity for innovation. We are a work in progress and remain grateful for the time people spend working with us. Again, thank you for the feedback and we wish you the best on your chosen path.

Pros

They find some good work for you with interesting clients. They provide fast payment for you as long as you invoice in timely manner..

Cons

They seem to forget about you after some time of working freelance for them. Sometimes let small things slip through the cracks.

As our first review, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for your feedback. Many of changes we have implemented over the years have been direct results from the honest advice and recommendations that we receive from our talent. We are extremely proud of the improvements we have made in the last 7 years and are even more excited about the future as we continue to innovate. We hope that you found an opportunity to #DoWhatYouLove and would invite you give the 2019 TeamPeople a chance to exceed your expectations.

Pros

Other than the day I left, I really can't think of any.

Cons

First and foremost, if you are not one of the initial employees that were there when TeamPeople was created, they will not care about you. Once they hire you and drop you into a clients site, do not plan on hearing from them again unless you reach out to them - and even then, don't hold your breath waiting for a response. The amount of shady business that is being conducted here is ridiculous; offering people days off in lieu of overtime being worked that should be paid out at time and a half, listening to the corporate employees treat the HR department like royalty when they are around, yet are very quick to stab them in the back and throw them under the bus the minute they leave. Be prepared for someone supervisors to rip you a new one for something they were responsible for and then act like your best friend an hour later as if nothing happened. There are so many derogatory comments made by the senior personnel and no matter how many times you report it, nothing will happen. Supervisors would rather yell and scream at you for something they believe was not completed than take 30 seconds to check their e-mail and see it was already done. And also be prepared to watch certain people constantly show up to work late, steal company property, threaten other employees and only receive a slight slap on the wrist while others will be fired simply for not answering their phone right away, not responding to an email within 5 minutes, or simply forgetting to send an e-mail by mistake. If you are in a position where they literally do not have anyone to replace you if they let you go, then by all means, do whatever you want, because you'll be fine. When it comes to work/life balance, HA! As I said before, the original TeamPeople employees are able to come and go as they please, making appointments in the middle of the day, taking 2 hour lunches, etc. When you leave the office, you are never really leaving your work load. I would suggest maybe not putting hours on your website if you expect people to work well into the late hours of the evening. My favorite is when certain people are able to take off on a Friday because they are going out of town and can "work from their car", while others cannot. Also, please do not believe the 5-star reviews here. Employees were asked to create accounts on here and leave positive reviews. That is how you know you are failing as a company. Also, lets get with the program and stop sending out paper checks to freelancers. Everyone is direct deposit now. Overall, you couldn't pay me a large enough amount of money to ever go back to this company.

I am very sorry to hear you had this experience with TeamPeople. Having shared this with the management team, we are using your review as a test of our continuous improvement plan. Each person who spends time working for us and our clients is valued, so we will need to create more checkpoints to ensure that message is being received. We are available to our staff almost 24/7 for the simple fact that we do care. We deliver a strong business case to retain and expand the array of benefits and support available to our teams. Direct deposit and ACH are available for our staff and freelancers. We provide training and resources to our managers and we have a zero tolerance policy for any manner of abusive behavior. We invite people to share their experiences. No one is told what to think or what to say. Your review is your perspective and it takes all perspectives to provide a comprehensive look at a multi-faceted company. It allow allows us to take this feedback and turn it in to something actionable. As EVP, overseeing the HQ staff, I have an open door policy and wish I would have had the opportunity to address your concerns at some point in the 3 years you worked for us. I appreciate your candor and can assure you that we as a company will work even harder toward providing a positive experience for everyone. – Rachel Peters
