Company Was Fine, The Department Was Not
Pros
Flexible working environment with supportive colleagues. The workload generally manageable, and team members willing to help and share knowledge when needed.
Cons
Sr. Manager has strong focus on monitoring employee activities (who we talked to, casual chit chat, clock in clock out despite of company flexibility), rather than outcome& performance of the work, which created unnecessary pressure and reduced trust. Tendency to form judgments before fully understanding situation or listening to whole issue. Instructions, expectations not always clear, morning is A then afternoon B then evening is C, especially during urgent situations. Employees expected to deliver results asap, but lack in clear direction and prioritization, making it difficult to understand what should be addressed first. Direct Superior : Tasks can sit for months or years, once reassigned, they suddenly became urgent and heavily monitored. The new owner expected to answer for delays they did not even create. More responsibilities assigned over time, but raising concerns, asking questions, seeking clarification was often viewed negatively rather than being treated as a reasonable discussion.Opinions was not welcomed. Overall working culture in QUALITY ASSURANCE department is highly stressful. Potential candidates should carefully evaluate and consider whether this environment and leadership style are what they are looking for to thrive in their careers.
