Toxic Company Culture

Pros

Some good opportunities, engaging events.

Cons

- "Flexible" working hours not a pro, most of the marketing team came in around 10am but would stay till 11pm or midnight. - International team but people were of a similar mold. Those who weren't were pressured to conform. - People go behind your back to complain to manager. - Shaming you if you're Singaporean but don't sound Singaporean - Pressure to join lunches even with dietary restrictions - Gender bias is shocking - a guy and girl were good friends and chose to sit next to each other at work. The girl was told off by management, but the guy wasn't. - Stress from KPIs, and a lot of blaming of employees by upper management. In short, toxic shaming work place. Not worth the emotional stress.

Toxic culture

Pros

Some nice people from other countries. (Many of the Singaporeans there are not genuinely nice & will badmouth you to management)

Cons

Forced to fit into culture - all the while falsely advertising their "diverse cultures". Strong-armed into joining coworkers for lunch a few times a week; otherwise seen as not making efforts to fit in. Not respected for having a different culture, & got told off for it. Sexism is prevalent in Asia, as in this company - when a boy & girl is involved, the girl gets told off but the boy gets away with it. Expect to do lots of overtime. Many people come in around 10am or 11am, but only leave at midnight ! If you are one of those that come in at 9am or 10am, & want to leave by 6pm or 7pm - typical working hours, expect to feel bad about it because everyone's still working. False claims of flexible working schedule - it's much less flexible than they say. Worse thing about their culture is they pretend to be open-minded, when they are anything but ! So they don't explain what they expect, & when someone unknowingly deviates, they get the sting. Expect coworkers to gossip & badmouth you to managers quite a bit too. All while acting nice. CEO will also be biased against someone who doesn't fit into their cultural mould.
