Great place to learn end-to-end process

Pros

The company is a higher end of SME in Singapore. The business was quite stable and the processes were quite complex. It is a great place to learn new things since we can come to any department and talk to anyone there. Great people, great environment.

Cons

The company was a family run business so some of the decisions and processes were not following best practices. Some relatives were involved in strategic and important positions which perhaps discouraged other employees who were not in the circle.

Too Traditional

Pros

- Company seems stable - Has international branches (SEA) - Everyone tries to be (too) politically correct - Have some genuine nice down to earth people here - Can consider joining if you'd like to work at a place with not much progression (jobs, skills and knowledge wise) for over a decade - Depending on which department, there might be decent worklife balance - Decent staff benefits

Cons

- Company too traditional - Feels like a communist company (you'll know when you join, but you'll only start to realise after you leave) - Everyone here seems to get somewhat brainwashed to treat the company like "family" and as a result reflect on self no matter what happens instead of thinking perhaps in some areas it really the company that could better itself - Once you join it'll be hard to quit as you might get brainwashed to start to feel bad to leave your "family" - It's a family business so can't be helped - Very traditional and safe, management always tries to advice everyone to keep up with the times/move forward, but they themselves are fearful to take any suggestions to do anything new or current - Too much hierarchy - Biased supervisors depending on which department - Questionable balance in workload. Depending on department, some staffs either gets overworked while others has extremely good work life balance. - Overall stingy pay compared to market rates, but they think they're very generous
