Abusive & Extremely Toxic Work Place

Pros

- Talented and friendly co-workers (the only highlight of this work environment). - 50% WFH 50% in office (depending on the department you work in).

Cons

- Extremely toxic turn over rate Owners hire and fire employees weekly. You are not treated like a human being no matter how much time and effort you give. If they see a shiny new person with a better resume than you, they will fire you and hire them (even if you have worked at the company for years+). No loyalty. - No leadership + Abusive CEO's Owners do not have a background in the fashion industry. They are Youtubers with money, which isn't necessarily a bad thing , but it is when it comes to leadership. AKA they do not have any. They have no integrity and truly treat their employees like trash. They will give you assignments at 3am and change an entire project one day before a deadline. It is abusive, unrealistic, and unprofessional. Then they will blame you when the results are not up to par. - Plagiarism at its finest. It is embarrassing to work for this company, they are constantly ripping off other brands. You can google it for yourself. - Please do not look to work here if you are seeking a steady job during the pandemic. Working at Teddy Fresh is a way to gain experience not permeance in a position.

Pros

- Decent benefits package - Fully stocked pantry - Nice coworkers

Cons

Teddy Fresh is a company that had a lot of potential. I used to look forward to coming to work every day but the culture has shifted dramatically in the past 6 months to become a place of toxicity. The company leaders love to hire and fire. There is no job security here. It has led to a culture of passing the blame so that everyone can try to save themselves. If you start at the bottom you are the most susceptible to this. I have seen at least 15 people get fired since I started working and with a company of less than 50 people, that is quite a lot. They make it clear that you are dispensable. The culture is also very sink or swim. Do not expect to receive any job training or formal orientation here. If you cannot perform to their unreasonable standards they will fire you within days or weeks of you starting. The company is so unorganized that what they ask their employees to do is almost impossible a lot of the time. The owners have no background in the fashion industry and have even burned bridges with their vendors due to their fickleness and lack of knowledge. In terms of the product, the clothing is largely copies of other brands and is more and more unoriginal with each delivery. The owner and head design will knowingly copy another company's design, blame it on a lower level designer when they get caught and fire that person. If you are wanting to join this company to get closer to the owners, don't bother! They never come into the office or interact with anyone other than upper management. You can try as hard as you can to bring your experience to the table and keep the company afloat but you will be ignored and probably get fired just for speaking up.

Pros

If you have zero experience they would probably still hire you.

Cons

- Massive employee turn over rate. In 6 months more than 8 people have been fired with no warning, and many more have just left. - Toxic culture, leadership talk about employees behind their backs to other employees. No issue is ever addressed to the actual employee, you're just made to feel like you're unpopular. It's border line bullying. - On multiple occasions they have looked for replacements for people before they have even fired them. They think no-one knows. - Terribly run. The owners have no idea how to run a business in this industry so they treat their employees and suppliers very badly, and don't listen to the people who do know what they are doing. - You are expected to work 24/7, and then still get told you are not working long enough. - No Autonomy, you're not a designer here you don't get to make any decisions about anything, yet when the public finds out they have knocked something off design is blamed even though they knew all along. - They will tell you it's paradise to get you through the door, all empty promises! In Summary - Don't work here! It's badly run, unorganized and stressful. Everyone who works here is either waiting to be fired or looking for a new job.
