Pros

A really dedicated team who put up with way to much stuff that they really shouldn't have too. Nice office

Cons

Really bad attitudes from those in leadership Leadership publicly shouts at and humiliates people, there isn't a culture of helping one another. It's militant when it really doesn't need to be.

Pros

The team, there are some really lovely talented people who work here and make the days slightly more bearable. The hours are flexible.

Cons

The owners are extremely disruptive and present themselves in a totally unprofessional manor. The way that management and general members of staff are spoken to by one of the owners in particular is unacceptable In a modern working environment. There is a level of casual sexism displayed and just a general lack or care for staffs welfare when issues are raised. It’s all good and well showing a care for your staff on your social platforms but in reality this isn’t happening day to day. The level of staff turnover should be enough to trigger alarm bells but again nothing ever seems to change.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear you found the team supportive and appreciated the flexible working hours. We’re proud of the talented people who work at Teemill and the collaborative environment they help create. That said, we’re sorry to hear your experience did not reflect the kind of culture we aim to build. We take allegations around unprofessional behaviour, including any form of discrimination or disrespect, extremely seriously. These are not values we accept, and we have clear policies and channels in place for raising and addressing concerns. If behaviour falls short of our standards, we act on it. We also want to be transparent: we’ve been through a period of growth and change, and that has brought challenges—including higher staff turnover at times. But we continue to invest in creating a supportive, inclusive workplace where people can thrive and develop. That includes improving management practices, listening to employee feedback, and offering flexible working where possible. For example, we have recently completed an employee survey to give everyone across the business an opportunity to provide honest, anonymous feedback. We were really pleased with many of the insights shared—particularly around team culture, purpose, and impact—and we’re using the findings to help guide continued improvements in the areas that matter most to our people. If you would be open to sharing more detail, we’d really welcome a confidential conversation. Hearing directly from those who’ve been part of the team helps us keep improving. Thank you again for your time at Teemill, and we wish you all the best for the future.

Overworked and Underpaid

Pros

Ethos of contributing to a less wasteful solution to fast fashion is great. Generally co-workers/direct team members are friendly and there is lots of encouragement to give me more responsibilities within my role.

Cons

Founders can be quite cruel and challenging to staff under the guise of being progressive, which makes for an uncomfortable office environment. Workload expectations and responsibilities is not reflected in pay, which is far under market value, with bonuses promised and never paid. Output expected in my role is 5 times what would be expected in other organisations and they are keen to add responsibilities without a clear plan in place. Training is promised but ends up feeling like lip-service due to there never being time allocated. Flexible/core working hours introduced as a company policy but no one is allowed to use it. Communication of company policy is dire and there is no formal pay structure.

Thanks for your feedback, and we really appreciate your honesty. It’s great to hear that you value our sustainability goals and enjoy working with your team. We totally get your concerns about the founders’ approach, workload, and pay. They’re passionate about Teemill, but we understand it can sometimes feel overwhelming. We’re going to focus on improving how we manage workloads, ensure fair pay, and follow through on training and promises. Your feedback is really helpful, and we’re committed to making things better for everyone. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
