Heartbreaking to See What New Management Has Done to Formerly Great Company

Pros

Very few positives left as new management has decimated the culture and gutted the workforce. Used to be a great place to work with fantastic people. Now the only positives are the five star reviews that Rhonda’s new hires and loyalists are posting to try to offset all the honest negative reviews.

Cons

Since the new CEO, Rhonda Bassett-Spiers was hired the company has gone through several rounds of deep layoffs and site closures, saying they were necessary to cut costs and prepare the company for sale. However, at the same time they are laying off critical employees and teams with deep industry and product knowledge they are hiring Rhonda’s former team from the last company they stripped, plus all their friends, with titles that seem to change monthly and no industry experience. Many of the employees left from “before “ Rhonda are either trying to hold on until the company is sold and Rhonda & team leave or are looking for new jobs before their fobs are the next ones turned off. Morale is truly horrible but the management team is trying to hide it with fake five star reviews on Glassdoor.

Pros

Dan Castles' leadership created a truly special environment at Telestream. It offered unparalleled opportunities for skill development, product knowledge, and building a supportive community of colleagues.

Cons

While I'm not typically a cynical person, my experience at Telestream under Rhonda Basset-Spires' leadership left me, and many colleagues, feeling burnt out and disillusioned. Here are some of the biggest concerns I encountered: Inconsistent Expectations: Weekly changes in goals and priorities made it impossible to plan or feel confident in our work. Chaotic Workflows: Daily workflow adjustments resulted in constant scrambling and a lack of efficiency. Unclear Direction: Management seemed unsure of their vision, leading to constant confusion and frustration among employees. Job Insecurity: Despite positive feedback and hitting targets, layoffs could happen with little or no warning, creating a climate of fear and anxiety. Beyond internal issues, I also witnessed: Toxic Work Environment: The company culture became stressful and negative. The recent reviews, excluding the ones fabricated by the HR department, reflect the drastic change in culture. Questionable Business Practices: Transparency with both customers and business partners seemed to be lacking. Overall, Telestream feels like a company adrift. With the future of the company being uncertain, it's difficult to recommend this environment to anyone seeking stability and clear direction in their career.

Pros

Used to be a good company, full of good people, dedicated to customer success with management that supported that vision.

Cons

Horrific, egotistical, ignorant, management with zero industry experience. Constant indiscriminate layoffs. Silly company direction and infantile messaging. Despite layoffs, there are more VPs than ever, all of them hand picked by Rhonda either just of college or from her last company, where they also received zero industry exposure. Be aware that any positive reviews in the past year are almost certainly planted by management and full of lies. Also, note that current Telestream management under Rhonda has elected NOT to update the CEO name here on Glassdoor. Dan was an excellent CEO and his name is sullied by any continued association with this company.
