Pros

Good wage. Flexible hours. Was given the opportunity to learn. Assistant Manager was very supportive especially when the old manager left abruptly. Colleagues were always there to help. Coffee on tap. Surrounded by woodlands.

Cons

Constantly attending meetings dreaming up impossible solutions to the most simplistic of problems. Department lost direction under new management. New manager employed a small group from his previous employment. He then spent most of his time consulting and working with them leaving the rest of the team in the dark. Was promised reviews and staff development which never materialised. Was left feeling like I didn't fit with the team. Team was starting to get less and less "Agile" as time went on.

Pros

It had good pay for that form of job also you got paid for travelling to jobs not just for the work you done and it was hourly rate

Cons

Its very tough strenuous work also involves a lot of heavy lifting. The time you start work is usually very early depending on how far you have to travel

Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

With a reputation of hire and fire I was told that moving from a contractor to permanent would give me the stability, and why my pay would be much less. 6 months later, just before my first review to end probation. No complaints, not failed work commitments and 60 to 70 hours a week. Gone. No explanation, no thanks, not even an acknowledgment. I later learnt that this was common practice and one in which many of the management have no control over when the MD is going to have his so called temper tantrums. It's not worth bothering with this company, there is always an alternative.
