Pros

Pay is decent for new college graduates. Not the best for engineers, but is competitive. Health and retirement savings benefits are good. Company matches 5% of your 401k contributions if you manage to stay with them for 3 years.

Cons

Where to begin... if you've read other reviews about this place, you've probably heard people say that it's not an "American company". What that basically means is that all of the upper and middle management are expats from Mexico, Argentina, and Italy. I didn't think much about it when I first joined, but it leads to tons of issues when you work. First of all, the language barrier is obvious. For most of them, English is a second of third language. If you are like me and grew up in American and only know how to speak English, you will have a very hard time communicating with your own boss and people you have to work with and will have an extremely difficult time getting tasks done. I don't know if it's a cultural thing, or Tenaris thing but the work-life balance is TERRIBLE. If you work long hours (I'm talking 12 hr days) you are not commended or rewarded for your hard work, but expected to. Since the beginning of the oil crisis/downturn, Tenaris has elected to let go a lot of their salaried employees. As a result, a ton of employees have to take on the amount of work of 2 or 3 people. You could only imagine the amount of stress everyone is under and how low morale. This is led to, of course, tons of people quitting and making the problem even worse. The turnover rate is the worst that I have seen at any company. The overall work environment is just very bad. Despite what Tenaris' press and social media likes to portray, the entire Bay City project has been a mess. Budgets have been cut constantly, leading to projects falling months behind schedule, adequate equipment for different machines, and high levels of stress for the few people left to work there. Meetings are often filled with people making excuses and/or passive-aggressively making comments about other departments. Instead of helping each other to fix whatever issues come up, everyone just looks for a scapegoat or somebody to blame. I know for me, I only took this job because I thought I wanted to work in Oil & Gas coming out of college and Tenaris were one of the only companies hiring during the downturn. I recommend anyone who is looking for a job to stay away and look elsewhere. Only consider them if you have nowhere else to go, but just know what you are getting yourself into.

Pros

Once a quarter you will get a free, soggy half sandwich from Panera while upper management talks to you about how great Tenaris is. You will get a humiliating bonus BUT at Thanksgiving they'll give you a $20 Walmart gift card, so that evens it out.

Where to begin.... run. Compensation IS A JOKE. What you give to the company does not matter. When I first started, top management told us they wanted Tenaris USA to be an "American company" with Americans in management. When the oil crisis hit, nearly every American over the age of 40 was let go. No expats touched. I spent several years at the company and never once suggested an idea or gave an opinion that wasn't immediately slammed by management. My direct coordinator was good, but management directly above him made life miserable. They are incredibly fake, constantly micromanage every detail, have no trust in employees, do not care about employee development, and have the most passive aggressive communication style. This management is single handedly driving people out. When I put in my two weeks notice, the DIRECTOR of my department and the manager below him never said a word to me or acknowledged my existence for the following two weeks. That part was actually kind of nice. Nobody wants to stay at this place, especially now that they are expecting the entire company to pick up their families and move to the middle of nowhere, Texas. Because why wouldn't you send your children to bad schools and move your entire life for the good of a company that doesn't care about you? And if you don't go, essentially no severance or unemployment?! I'm beyond thankful to be out.
