Pros

Working with kids can be rewarding if you are not so overwrought that you can't enjoy it. Some flexibility to move around to different age rooms etc .

Cons

45 hour week minimums, 11 hour days with one, 30 min break 8 hours into it, healthcare that is unaffordable, staffing always so low that you are juggled between rooms and theyll combine all different ages (as much as the state allows) so you can't appropriately target learning to age. Way too much cookie cutter curriculum with NO follow up of how it's being implemented. Lazy and terrible middle management who mostly just works there for their own kids' daycare discount and doesn't care about employees or anything much. If you do their supposedly so great "4 10s" it is 4 11.5 hour days and you can't get the same day off like...ever. So all you do on that day is try to recover from the chaos that is every other day. Minimal crappy PTO No real HR person so no one can guide you through healthcare, PTO, or anything. They leave that to location managers but they're always so busy they don't want to be bothered. No one is supposed to have a personal life. I got sick with a major health issue while working there and got treated like crap just bc I had to go to the doctor. Pregnant lady I worked with couldn't even get affordable enough daycare rates to bring her own child there, yet they treated her like crap anytime she was late or her baby was home sick. Childcare company that doesn't give a crap about its own employees families and kids unless you've worked there like 8 years already. Then they care a tiny bit. Garbage company!

Pros

The children are the only thing that keeps most of the workers going and coming back at all.

Cons

Does NOT care about their employees at all. Zero respect for their teachers. DO NOT care about anything other than money and personal appearance. DO NOT care about the children in their centers. They are a money making scheme and that is it. The directors of the school are in the pockets of the corporate management. They all cover up things they shouldn't. Everything that happens is a big secret and kept under wraps. I have seen things that should not happen in a day care setting be swept under the rug. I have seen directors do things that grant being fired and yet corporate protects them. There are no values. They treat their employees like ants while they sit in their nice offices all day long. They expect far too much for how little pay as well. The work load is outrageous and they offer no help, no planning time, we barely get our breaks most days. AND FORGET asking to pee - you'll get eyes rolled, dirty looks, and you'll just get told "I'm too busy" or "I don't have time". Also, you are there all day every day, sometimes 10+ hours. They have nice vacation time and personal/sick time, but it has to be approved prior. It rarely is approved and you can never use your time. I've been to the dentist ONE TIME in four years. one. I pay for it with my benefits twice a month - worth it? NO.

Management and Priorities

Pros

I love the teamwork in the classrooms and the structure of lesson plans. Fair pay, wish was higher for the work we do. I love childcare and it is so rewarding but i do not feel like a valued employee in the company I am a part of.

Cons

The management lacks a respect for their employees. The priorities are based on appearance rather than child care. The pay is far too low for the amount of work force put forth. The employees should not be doing the remodeling such as painting, fixing broken doors, repairing fixtures, and more. There should be a hired handyman on call to do that work or pay the employees correctly for those services. Nightly cleaning crew does not do what is to be done and the employees do the work instead the next morning. The requests and suggestions of employees are dismissed and seen as "incompetent." Respect is not distributed to all employees. Management conflicts in view of the children.
