Pros
The benefits are good. The job is mostly clerical depending on who your member is, but as long as you keep yourself organized and have a good understanding of what your member is looking for, it's a great job. Generally, it offers something new everyday. You will be helping constituents with various problems which will require you to become knowledgeable in varying areas. There's a lot of setting up meetings and calls that go along with it too, but you get to meet all sorts of people from across the state.
Cons
This can be a pro and a con, but the workflow is very seasonal. There's generally a ton to do while the legislators are in session, while the volume is not nearly as laborious outside of session. Also, who you have as your member dictates how your job will be. It's best to have someone who you don't fervently disagree with ideologically and who you get a long with. Some members are very kind and easy te get along with, but others are not.
