~It's not the job that's bad, it's the incompetent administration~

Pros

-Great benefits available -Bookstore and market are nice

Cons

-Understaffed -Faculty/staff are hired but are not qualified for the positions they hold -Some of the new VP's are bullies, this is due to being in a position they don't understand which makes some people defensive.

Pros

Free classes, good benefits, easy access off Interstate, many paid days off to recover from being at work. Good band and pep squad. Up-to-date computer equipment and software campuswide-they did a good job keeping the latest bells and whistles on everyone's computer.

Cons

Politics, favoritism, some people were not challenged when they acted inappropriately because administrators feared backlash. Inappropriate references to people's religious beliefs and proselytizing--religious messages on employee's voicemail, questions about religious beliefs during job interviews. Salary compression a huge problem--newly graduated faculty brought in at the current salary of 20-year veterans.

Pros

equidistant from most residential areas in city, work life balance, pay was okay compared to other in-state schools, people are generally easy to get along with on the job

Cons

inter-office politics, middle management that has been in power too long, new President every few years brings new emphasis, bad reputation (undeserved) of the school in the area among some of the local population
