We were given zero direction, any strategic guidance that we were supposedly working towards was vague and devoid of tangible outputs (fundraisers often couldn’t obtain basic information about what we were fundraising towards. Senior staff would often create internal barriers that delayed simple tasks and along with having to manage fragile (and significantly better paid egos), work took much longer than needed to.
Mine and similar concerns were dismissed, experiences denied and larger organisational wide issues, were often pushed onto junior staff to resolve.
There was a severe lack of internal communication, important information was not shared, which greatly hampered output and quality.
There was a widespread sense of dissatisfaction, including a strong sense that THT was not an inclusive space or accommodating to people’s wider needs, and that nods to equality were often tokenistic as also suggested by the removal of the EDI directorate.
Colleagues often felt dissatisfied with CEO conduct and expressed attitudes.
Overall it was really quite a demoralising experience.
