      Pros

      Easy to get time off in the off season, and coworkers are exceptional. There are many locations and positions available for entry level employees. Also, there is adequate training with many aspects of the job. Descent benefits.

      Cons

      First of all, the standard pay is well below industry standard. The opportunity for advancement is nonexistent. Turn over for emergency management is high, leaving untrained and unproven people in the field. Middle management is not hired for knowledge of fire, but the degree in hand. I have heard with my own ears, "we are proud to do so much with so little".
