Terrible job for Mental Health

Pros

Learning new things, building a team, gaining customer service experience, building relationships with college staff/students and being challenged. Plenty opportunity to learn new things.

Cons

Was harassed by a student and told the company, and that student was forced off of campus into a mental health facility the next week. Staff well-being was on the line and no one did anything because person was a student. Some upper management has gotten away with not knowing very basic aspects of the jobs, and cannot even support their managers. Constantly changing information and direction. Constantly admitting "oh I don't how to do so and so" and asking for help with answering their own emails and fixing issues for them. No one should be stuck with training their superior. Company harassed me to rush back to work when sick and hadn't gotten any rest yet, and I was contacted on every single day off because there was no one else with my level of knowledge to help team. Was bothered around the clock, even while eating lunch. Asked for training and support on new processes, asked for help when morale in my store dwindled after added responsibility. Extra work and efforts are not acknowledged or compensated. Yet people in higher positions get away with poor customer service and not having sufficient knowledge to perform. Leaving this job was a blessing. This workplace is awful for mental health. One week gone and nervous system is already recovering from the constant stress. Responsibilities, directions, information, processes, and expectations were always changing. I was left out of key meetings and information yet was still held accountable for them. There are no women at the top in this organization. There is no real HR, hence no one to actually talk to about concerns.
