Pros

The biggest pro would have to be the experiences you get here that you won't get at 99% of other college jobs/internships. Before going into last year I never knew how to give a sales presentation. Now I can say that I ran a 53k business my freshman year of college, I can say that not only did I hire people but I got the unfortunate experience of having to fire someone, I can say that I processed a payroll and that I was in charge of up to 10 employees at one time. Also I made about 15% profit on my sales so the money was great too.

Cons

The stress level will also be more than 99% of the jobs that you have had up until this point. The big difference is now you are in charge of other peoples jobs and not only being responsible for your own. Customers will sometimes be a pain but that is the same for any job.

Pros

This program was extremely rewarding and has put me ahead of my peers. I've learned how to handle myself both as a worker and as a boss. Most students aren't taught how to hire/fire other people, handle thousands of dollars in business, or balance their time to accommodate major responsibility. The people of Textbook will help teach you how to do all of these tasks and because of that I am able to talk about my personal experiences to recruiters of other companies. I definitely impressed a few of them because I was able to get a handful of offers from different companies I was interested in working for.

Cons

This job is a commitment and that being said you will benefit from it based on how much of yourself you put into it. It is at times uncomfortable because you will be dealing with situations you have never dealt with before. Stick with it and those situations will be second nature to you. There were times when I was put in situations where I couldn't get a hold of people to answer my questions, but by figuring it out on my own I definitely learned on the job.

Pros

I have been with TBP for almost a year and a half, and I can honestly say, I'm glad to be a part of this team. From the beginning, I have been treated as family. I have always felt that my needs were taken care of and that I could speak to anyone in the office about work-related and non-work related issues. The best part of this job is that I am always learning. Personal development is a huge part of this company. Whether it be book clubs and discussions, small lessons throughout the day, or videos and articles shared throughout the company, I am always learning new ideas and new ways to approach problems. The CEO truly cares about each employee's success and I don't think I could get better treatment at any other company. He also knows when credit is due and my hard work has never gone unnoticed. I'm so happy that I've been given such a great opportunity even if I didn't realize it when I was first brought on board. My work is fulfilling and I know that I am able to work to my full potential.

Cons

Given that TBP is a small company, things can get quiet. It's kind of a bummer not being able to get a drink with a few coworkers after work, but that's the worst of this company.
