Pros

- Joined at a really exciting inflection point. The org was becoming a genuine national voice on AI in education and you could feel the momentum every week - Incredibly mission-driven team. People actually cared about the work, not just the optics - Got to see the organization mature in real time with stronger systems, clearer processes, and a more professional presence, without losing what made it special - Watched leadership grow and learn alongside the organization. They were open about what they didn't know yet and got sharper over time, which set the tone for the whole team - The impact is real. This went from a small team with a big idea to an org reaching hundreds of thousands of students across all 50 states, partnering with major foundations, and shaping how schools think about AI readiness

Cons

- Growing pains are real when you scale fast, and things like role clarity and internal processes sometimes lagged behind the external momentum. That said, the team always recognized it and worked to close the gap - The "figuring it out as we go" energy could occasionally feel chaotic, but honestly that's also what made it exciting and gave everyone a real sense of ownership over the work

Pros

1. The org has a clear mission and leaders are very passionate about achieving their goals. 2. The needs of teachers and students are prioritized in decision making. Leaderships makes an effort to collect and use educator feedback to design and improve products/services, and to integrate educators directly into the development/revision process when possible. 3. Compensation for most positions is much higher than market and the benefits are the best I've seen in the industry. Generous annual raises and periodic bonuses were the norm when I was there. 4. Remote work and flexible schedule. There are core working hours in the middle of the day (when timezones overlap). Otherwise, if you get your work done and make it to meetings on time, managers are usually fine with you working at times that are most productive for you. They are very understanding about employees who need flexibility for doctor appts, childcare, school, etc. 5. Leaders are open to critical feedback and eager to improve when they receive it. Employees are encouraged to propose new ideas regardless of seniority. 6. They prioritize hiring experienced educators, particularly public school teachers, to fill Curriculum and Programs roles. Educators are treated as professionals with valuable skills, expertise, and perspectives. This is not an org where tech folks' opinions outweigh educators. If you are a teacher with little to no out-of-school work experience, this org is a great place to learn and grow into nonprofit/office roles. 7. CEO works his a** off to raise money and find partners.

Cons

Sometimes you will work late to meet a deadline or take a meeting but that is pretty rare.

Pros

The organization provides an exceptional team environment where employees feel genuinely supported and valued. aiEDU continuously seeks opportunities to enhance experiences and streamline internal and external operations. Creativity and innovation are encouraged, empowering teams to approach their work with fresh perspectives. The organization celebrates and recognizes employees' contributions, making it a truly rewarding place to grow and make an impact.

Cons

The team is dispersed across different coasts, sometimes making remote work feel isolating. However, the team is developing ways to foster community between the coasts.
