It's a trap

Pros

good experience for everything IT, AV, and printer related.

Cons

Paid me to be a support tech, expected me to act as a co-system admin(one other guy with me between 6 locations) for a school corporation, and fix printers around the area, and work on servers that would take a day trip to get to work on and back, and clean viruses in the area. Recieved my bachelors while working there and was told i was a flight risk, and they didnt want to give me a raise when it came to "review" time, even though between the 2 of us at the schools we closed out more tickets than their entire worthless helpdesk did, because we were "flight risks". Was given a pdf for when we did "exemplary" work, instead of a raise in our reviews.

Pros

-Made me appreciate other managed service providers, internal IT, and pretty much any other job. The bar is substantially lowered.

Cons

-The AME Group is also known as Advanced Micro-Electronics. This was the name they started with I believe. Publicly it is listed that the company took a $2-5million Paycheck Protection Program loan for Covid relief in order to retain jobs. The loan was via German American Bank and approved on 4/8/20. It says publicly that 201 jobs were saved. Despite this public record, management never mentioned the loan and multiple people were laid off during the year. Could never trust leadership after this. -If you work in service money can be taken out of your paycheck for complaints customers have about you. -It is company culture that employees are expected to work 50-60hr weeks minimum or they are looked down on. -As mentioned in other reviews, ESOP feels like a pyramid scheme.

A Daily Nightmare

Pros

It's a job in IT I guess.

Cons

Typical overworked, understaffed MSP to maximize profits and pay as few salaries as possible. Everyone is on edge and stressed out everyday resulting in a miserable "that's not my problem" environment. There's usually some kind of crisis most days of the week and engineers and technicians throw each other under the bus to displace blame. Training is a lie, they don't do the quarterly trainings anymore and after I was promised that I would get company paid MCSA or CCNA training after 6 months they just gave me an A+ book instead and said "maybe next year." They are extremely paranoid of people leaving and the company recruiter actively searches for current employees resume's on the job boards and then reports them to management so that you can be confronted about it.

Thank you for your feedback. We hope you offered these words in your exit interview. We can’t get better as an employee-owned company without positive and negative feedback. We are an IT Managed Service company. Some days are smooth and not a single dumpster fire in sight. Some days are crisis and emergency filled. We are working hard on putting proactive solutions in place for our Clients. We are on a path of continuous improvement to make this happen. Training isn’t a lie. Here is a list of the training classes we have offered in 2018 and the number of certifications: Enabling and Managing Office 365 (1 Employee Certification) Installation, Storage and Compute with Windows Server 2016 (2 Employee Certifications) Networking with Windows Server 2016 (1 Employee Certification) Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure (5 Employee Certifications) Training coming up: Cisco CCENT Administrating System Center Configuration Manager Identity With Windows Server 2016 We offer training opportunities after six months with us. We pay staff for the training time and certification test. The CompTIA A+ is a great first for a technical toolbox. We are proud of the training and education we offer. It didn’t meet your expectations and that is a ball drop. And no paranoid here 😊 We want everyone to love what they do. A resume spotted online acknowledges someone doesn’t love what they do. A conversation, not a confrontation, can illuminate areas of improvement needed. We wish you the best of luck with your new position. Thank you for your candor.
