Pros

Central location in Shibuya with a modern office and free drinks. Great view and easy access. You get 10% off discount in the food floor area.

Cons

- Overall a family run business... lots of politics going on and internal issues.. super high turnover rate many of the previous advisors didn’t even last a year.. -Everyone has to use their own laptops and phones (we don’t even get allowance). - Management always changes rules and structure to “adapt” to business needs. - They often make mistakes when calculating payroll so any expense that SHOULD be reimbursed it wasn’t and had to wait a month.. - No matter how good you do they always ask you “what could of been better” “we expect you to do more next week” -Minimal training, they expect you to understand everything after one time of one to one training. - Management always criticizes you and belittle you sometimes. - They expect you to hit all KPIs consistently each week and it’s ridiculous... I came from a larger firm and the KPIs is much reasonable and reachable. - You don’t have privacy and EVERYONE can hear you. Because you work in a shared lounge don’t have your own personal desk or locker to put your belongings. - They boast about their database and how the company has “a large exclusive hidden pool” their database is not big AT ALL.. - If you want to try and work here you have to find your own clients and the majority of the candidates they have don’t even answer. Thus hitting your weekly KPIs is almost impossible.

Pros

good location - directly from the stations bragging about the office location but we are only located in a tiny room - good for 4 people!! people are the best (except from the management) but those people left already

Cons

very high turnover rate! people literally come and go Working at Advisory Group has been a challenging experience, primarily due to several concerning aspects that potential employees should be aware of. Firstly, the company has implemented bewildering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including recent changes to commissions set at 25%, with an additional 10% deferred for a year, contingent on meeting KPIs and the yearly Management Action Plan (MAP). This creates an uncertain financial outlook for employees. The company undergoes frequent changes, with the CEO making decisions without providing clear explanations and often repeating himself 3-4 times. Daily meetings are characterized by nonsensical content, contributing to a chaotic work environment. Furthermore, management exhibits a bossy and disrespectful demeanor towards employees, creating a miserable work atmosphere. Despite initial promises of remote work, this rarely materializes due to inconsistent policy changes. The allocated budget for face-to-face candidate and client meetings is notably low, ranging from 500-2000 yen. (are they expecting us to bring the clients in saizeria??) The expectation to conduct 10-15 face-to-face meetings per month raises questions about the practicality of securing clients in such settings. It's worth noting that positive reviews on Glassdoor seem suspicious, likely written by management to boost the company's image. In reality, Advisory Group falls short of being a good workplace. The office conditions are also less than ideal, with employees expected to work in a common area due to the tiny office space. Despite the company's bragging about the office location, the reality is a cramped room suitable for only four people. Prospective employees should carefully consider these aspects before joining Advisory Group to ensure they align with their expectations and work preferences DO NOT JOIN HERE - RED FLAG

Pros

I really liked working with the coworkers. Everyone was so helpful and supportive. It was not competitive environment like some recruitment agencies.

Cons

Lots of company politics because it's a family owned business. So if you're part of the family, you will have a great career. Yes, they are transparent on the commission structure, but they also change the structure all the time. It's not stable. Rules change all the time, which is understandable for an early stage-startup but this company is a LATE stage startup so I believe they should standardize the work process better. They've had about 5 years to understand how the business works. Treats recruitment like selling a car, you're dealing with people. Not inanimate objects. Very transactional relationship with the employees. You didn't bill high enough this quarter? Oh ok I'm going to make your life miserable. They like to find faults and mistakes in your work. It wasn't a great motivation tool, it made me want to quit even more. The kpis were not very achievable, especially during the pandemic. They don't have a big client database, that's why they're so caught up on "cold calling" new clients. They don't believe in using LinkedIn but using a very amateur customized database they are proud of.
