Pros

Will hire, so there's that, if you're into sadomasochism Does provide crash course training, which honestly does give you some form of skills that can be used elsewhere (and rightly should)

Cons

I don't know where to begin, this company had me worried before I even took the interview. Everything felt wrong. The two year contract felt like a prison cage waiting to fall on me, good thing we made sure not sign anything completely binding or else that's £10,000 they've got from you. The work-life ratio was thrown out the window, at least 18 hours a day of training, including weekends, just to keep up, in order to train you to their so called 'standards'. They did however do a good job of telling us up front that they were going to lie on your 'profiles' they were going to make, but of course didn't mention how much more lies you would be getting into. The hiring process was even more shady, going from phone call to hired in 3 days doesn't exactly feel fantastic, but when you're a graduate looking for a job, you'll take what you can get, and they knew that fact and exploited it, as they will do with most their employees. The team working there, while somewhat friendly, were not approachable, not offering help, even after I had 'emailed' time and time again how I'd felt about my time there. and when I did decide I wanted to leave and this wasn't right for me, they tried to justify that I has to pay them a grand for the 1 week was there, revealing exactly what they were, deplorable and deceitful. Reading the reviews on here, and the reviews from when the company was known as unbounded, it's made me physically sick, the lies, the lack of respect and sheer illegality of the whole business is shameful and I honestly can't believe I was even affiliated with them. Oh, and don't believe any of the higher rated reviews here either, as i was working there, 3 'good' ones popped up in the space of a few days, so I'm sure they were questionable to say the least.

Pros

3+ years' of "experience" instantaneously

Cons

Where to begin, I had the misfortune of working at The App Experts for 10 months, beginning immediately after graduation from university. After 10 weeks of training (during which I was paid minimum wage, not my previously-agreed, very much entry level salary, and given work to do overnight (unpaid) in addition to during the work day) myself and a group of others were taught the basics of iOS development from scratch. We were then issued with profiles, which were CVs containing details of our previous experience, all of which was fabricated. In order to avoid "confusion" we were also asked to hide our personal LinkedIn and related profiles, while they created false versions to further reinforce the fabricated CVs. Despite this being obviously fraudulent, we were threatened with huge fees if we refused or wished to leave the company before the completion of our two year contracts (which we had been made to sign on our first day, not being told any of this). The rest of my time at the company entailed "working from home", or being paid minimum wage to sit at home and occasionally be called into the office to lie my way through a Skype interview (with question answering assistance from a senior employee to avoid not knowing answers). When questioned about the legality of this practice and the way the company is run, no senior management seemed to care or have a problem with it. Salaries were only paid in full while on contracts, where I was dropped into a company as a mid to high level developer and expected to blag my way through any work, occasionally provided with remote assistance from "tech support". Many of my colleagues' contracts were terminated early as a result of our lack of ability (10 weeks' experience, not several years as these employers believed). Company expenses were also minor to nonexistent, and assistance with things like relocation was also not present.

Pros

Great team to work with and a great social aspect to the company. Always focused on growth, both on a personal and a professional level, it's all about learning and developing new skills. Great opportunities to expand and improve, if you want to move up the ladder all it takes is effort.

Cons

There's no free rides, the work is hard but rewarding.
