There are no efficient training programs or systems in place and this hurts the operational efficiency severely. The Database is outdated and there are also no documents that explain the many groups, committees, abbreviations, associations, weekly reports, and other names that are crucial to querying constituent reports. It is very easy to mistake what is being asked of you because of this flaw, and this leads to a lot of unnecessary back and forth between the clients and the reporting team. There is pretty no much process documentation. You are expected to learn by exploring the database but are held to unfair standards when you guess and are wrong. Simple training videos could help explain the different groups, associations etc that you would need to know to be more self sufficient and do work on your own. You also will train a lot with others who don't do your job, instead of your manager, who seems to get pulled into a lot of meetings. One week you may be training with a co worker, and then they may be gone for a month, and you have to switch the person your are training with which could be like starting over, depending on their work styles. It seems as thought the manager and others would rather do things their way instead of making suggested changes inside of the department that could lead to more efficient day to days. The tests you may receive to test your knowledge of the database may be outdated, and answers you think you got wrong, you actually got rights. The ticketing system used to fulfill report request is old, outdated, and the User interface can be pretty frustrating because of the many moving parts. The pay is also not enough for the load of work the manager expects to be done by this position. Also you may be hired and told you will work from home 4 days a week, and then be told you have to come into the office 4 days a week once you are hired. The Office also has random leaks, and nothing seems to be done about it. A lof of office doors don't lock, and some are already locked so if you close the door it will remain locked unless the building manager is present to let you back into your office.
