      Changing culture - not for the better

      Pros

      Good compensation when times are good

      Cons

      Executives have become pompous & out of touch. Heavy favoritism; Fewer promotions from within based on merit. Too many “rules” and changing directives passed down from management without concern for those that have to implement them. Leadership lacks some of the integrity and personal approach they once had. The culture has changed a lot.

      Disorganized but Well Branded Company

      Pros

      The compensation is above industry standard and for the most part, and the other staff members company-wide are good people (If not great people). The projects are challenging and the backlog is growing. Many members of the company that you come into contact with have been with the company for 10+ years. The company is always looking for more solutions and easier ways for people to get the job done.

      Cons

      The Company talks more about cultivating new talent than actually making it happen. The Austin Regional Office in particular makes very poor hires in Project Management that get assigned in new areas that don't mentor the new PE's at all. It's sink or swim and the deck is always stacked. There is little to no structure at all in the new areas that Beck is, "Testing the waters" in. In spite of the in house architecture, the integrated jobs are the most disorganized hot messes imaginable.

      Great Company, Great Values

      Pros

      The Beck Group has a very family oriented approach to business. Employees look out for one another and truly care about each other and their clients, so much so that it is one of our company's core values. It is a pleasure coming into work everyday knowing that the work will be very engaging, fast-paced, and rewarding.

      Cons

      Like all construction professions, the hours are long. I believe that Beck does a very good job of trying to balance employees work life and personal life, but it can always be improved upon.
