      Great concept, strong culture, dizzying changes

      Pros

      You'll thrive at The Collective if you're resilient and love an entrepreneurial culture. I worked with them for 3 years and their communications, systems and overall strategy vastly improved over that time.

      Cons

      They're still very young, and have a lot to learn. Onsite teams are treated differently than HQ teams. They consistently make fast decisions that aren't totally thought out, with negative rippling consequences. However, for a young company in a nascent sector they're doing relatively well.

      A good company to work for

      Pros

      Have came up with a bonus structure for non-C-levels. Conscious of the concept of bias in the workplace and working to actively prevent it. Offices in Central London are nice but the lift never works, and it should never hold more than 3 people.

      Cons

      Hard to understand the business layout, tricky to understand whether the company is actually performing well or not. Fairly small org structure, not many opportunities for advancement in certain areas. The varied nature of the company causes siloes between many functions which isn't ideal but somewhat inevitable.

      Exposure to a huge breadth of work Really relaxed, friendly culture Leadership are constantly striving to improve The business is trying to create a new business model, meaning they're constantly doing new and interesting things Constantly changing, lots of problems to solve, no 2 days the same

      Cons

      Very complicated company, trying to do lots of things for the first time, with less than perfect systems in place, which can lead to a lot of energy being expended just to try and keep the wheels turning
