Pros

Honestly, there are no pro's to working for the founder of The Common Good.

Cons

The founder is downright mean and vitriolic. She lacks common decency & respect for all of her employees. She seems very nice and genuine when you first meet her, but please don't let that fool you. She constantly berates and yells at her staff when she doesn't understand something especially anything concerning social media. Because of the poor working environment there is a high turnover rate and most employees don't even seem to last 6 months. There is an office located in NYC which is NEVER used, and the 1-2 times we did go into the office NOTHING worked, not even the internet. There is no job training and founder EXPECTS you to know everything as soon as you as start. There is no organization. Founder claims to be a political activist, but it seems more fraudulent and she is using this non profit for her own tax write offs and gain.

Don’t get swindled into a job at the common good

Pros

Helps you learn what you DON’T want in a job.

Cons

I echo the sentiment of the negative reviews. Please do not ignore them thinking that “it can’t be that bad” or “it’s just a few disgruntled employees” like I did. They do not even give you the full picture. Horrible pay, no benefits, mean and unreasonable boss. Also, the turnover rate is so high, so I would not trust the few 4 and 5 star reviews claiming “it’s what you make of it.” I would not be surprised if those are being posted to boost the rating. The boss is also every kind of “-phobic” you could possibly be and treats staff like the help. If you do end up working here and have to run an in person event, make sure you pack a sandwich because you won’t be allowed to eat any food for the guests. You can do better. Save yourself 6 months off misery and find something else.

Pros

At least there are some networking opportunities but that's literally the only good thing about working for this company

Cons

CEO harasses the senior staff, in which the senior staff would take their anger out on the unpaid interns. Work isn't fulfilling, the job description says one thing but instead, we just did odd errands around the office that have nothing to do with anything we were promised to learn. Promised a travel stipend biweekly but always paid late or not at all. A waste of my time, highly do not recommend
