Pros

discount on products, so they're almost the same price as conventional store diverse staff

Cons

poor pay, insulting raises, and salary caps management keeps dissolving positions and expecting to pile the extra work on other staff for no extra pay coop has forgotten its values don't expect to move up in the company if you're a woman of color

Pros

20% employee discount, healthcare, quarterly bonuses

Cons

Management tends to be opaque in how it makes decisions. A lot of what happens seems to be based on croneyism. They often hire externally instead of promoting internally, especially with managerial positions and drag their feet when they do promote internally.

Betrayal For Years of Service

Pros

A semi-decent work/life balance, a full roster of truly great employees, a chance to give back to your local community and make some good money doing it.

Cons

Putting the bottom line before realizing great potential in people. I was denied a promotion (for my current position?) on some very lofty, almost straw-man reasoning. I have been with this company for 7 years, in my current position for 4 years. This all feels like a big stab in the back. The "5-tier" system of employee segregation should be abolished. Employees are frequently asked to do tasks outside of their job descriptions on the grounds of "Other duties as needed" being written into every job description.
