The company has been well established for over 40 years and continues to grow and develop year on year, we are one of the most respected in the Fabric retail industry.
All staff are treated the same way, when new employee's join the company they are given every opportunity to showcase the skills they can bring and the management then work closely to develop the area's in which the may need development. Those employee's who have been with the company for many years, of which there are many, are heavily involved in developing and reviewing those who are new to the company. This entire process is timely but the most effective at developing not only the individuals concerned but the close team that is required in a retail unit of this size.
In relation to staff absences, management work closely with all parties to ensure they are supported to ensure they are able to enjoy their time at work. Should employee's have regular periods of absence this is investigated to see if the employee can be supported to prevent this, however if after all support channels have been exhausted then, and only then would the matter be dealt with through disciplinary proceedings.
The store is a retail store, the majority of business is carried out at the weekend, it is explained clearly to all at interview stage, however should an employee require time off if the make a request this is reviewed in line with the needs of the business and in the vast majority of cases it is approved, it is only when the needs of the business require it that any request may be declined.
Bullying and harassment IS NOT TOLLERATED, anywhere in the company, this goes from the Managing Director all the way through the company, any incident of harassment or bullying is investigated and dealt with immediately.
We are a very long time established business that has grown every year for the last 40. Whilst The Curtain Store at Home is the newest endeavor of the company, we want everyone of our employees to enjoy their time with us, and of course it is hard work at times but we offer help and support at every step.
