Pros

The co-workers I had were super nice and friendly! They are all such hard workers and so welcoming. The HR department and administration is very humble, kind, and engaging! There's definitely room to grow in the company and in regards to compensation and commissions.

Cons

I did not have a pleasant experience here specifically in the recruiting department. I was unexpectedly let go (fired). I was told one reason why I was let go, and my team was told another. I believe it's because I "pushed back" and wouldn't let another woman (one of my bosses) speak to me condescendingly. Also, the fact that every phone call I was on was frequently nit-picked and micromanaged, when other recruiters were not receiving the same treatment was not right. Personality clash, to say the least. Constructive criticism is one thing, but this seemed a bit excessive. There's an effective way to lead, and then there's an ineffective way. After discussing the abrupt termination with co-workers, it was realized my termination was most likely pre-planned while I was on vacation and weeks before that. Overall, it was unfortunately a very sneaky, shady, and messed up experience for me. I've never experienced this before. They claim to be a hold Christian beliefs, but the recruiting department does not adequately and effectively show this. It is unfortunately caddy. After being fired, I applied for unemployment, and they tried to contest that. I lost my health care benefits the day I left. Didn't receive a 30 day grace period or a 3 day grade period (was fired on the 27th), which most companies do. Also, I never was compensated for one of the placements I made since they fired me before the candidate was officially on with his new company (even though I did all the work leading up to that point).... :(

Pros

The Encompass Group is a great place to work if you are on the HR Technology side. Great leaders/managers and everyone on that team is genuinely a nice and caring person. The Talent Acquisition Division is another story but it is a good opportunity to get an introduction to recruiting and some entry level experience to move to a better opportunity. The benefits are pretty good (unless you have a dependent on your insurance) and you get 4 weeks of PTO (one week rolls over to the next year).

Cons

The management on the recruiting side has a lack of development and understanding of HR policies and procedures. There is a fear of change and if you speak up about something they will isolate you until you quit or they come up with a reason to fire you. They do not have an efficient or structured on boarding process and you get thrown into the work, which has caused a high turn over rate and a high stress environment. They bring people on with a promise of a work life balance, but scold you when you work 9-5 regardless if you are hitting your goals or not. They also have a score card where weekly you are given a grade on various things including your emotions for the week. There is a lack of professionalism and accountability across the board. There is also limited opportunity for growth, with a lengthy process to get to account manager to then be capped out for growth. Low base salary with no raises. When I put in my notice I was treated with an insane amount of disrespect to the point that people were pretending I wasn’t there. This unfortunately is the reality for most that make a transition out of Encompass.
