Pros

Loving families. The opportunity to work with the 2 Founders who are 100% involved and vested. We get transparency. You can be yourself! You can allow your attire to reflect how you are on the inside. You can dress comfortably. The books you get to lay hands on and read to the class is phenomenal! You will get to work with a teaching assistant. The staff work environment is pretty smooth, the topics we discuss and solve real word problems with the kids. Restorative practice, an awesome literacy specialist to help. Outdoor time is soo healing. You can teach indoor OR outdoors between trees. I could go on and on and on! Freedoms to help students with project based learning.

Cons

There is no room for home/work life balance. The needs of the children takes an emotional toll, you live and breath TGP. There is a meeting EVERY morning before the sun rises. There is no contract. There is no rubric or outline that states what the performance assessment will look like at the close of the year. Your shell will burst wide open.

Not a good place to work at

Pros

The only pros this job offered were the rest of the staff and the wonderful students. The school has great vision, but that’s where the good ends.

Cons

Very disorganized, founding leadership do not know how to manage people. Only care about numbers. Overassign tasks to employees. One employee expected to do the job of many with the pay of half an employee. Poor communication and overwork the employees.
