Pros

As a Big-Agency-Refugee (Chiat, Saatchi, McCann, DDB) I am happier than a Corgi on stilts to have landed at The Golden State Company. The people & the culture are exactly what I've always wished for. Colleagues are kind, supportive, and responsive. Everyone is treated with respect, all voices are heard & taken into account, work-life balance is very important to leadership, we're treated like adults and not micromanaged. There is an environment of excellence & entrepreneurship that is refreshing and motivating. They value people as well as profit and it shows.

Cons

I do wish they had an FSA program that helped me a lot with my medical costs, but other than that, I don't have any cons.

Pros

People care about helping each other succeed Open about professional development and opportunities for growth within the company Good balance of home-grown talent with hires from bigger companies/agencies Almost all business comes through referrals so the relationships are pretty tight with client leaders Communication with leadership is really open and transparent People are prioritized over processes Competitive pay with equity/ownership opportunity Dog-friendly Great time-off policy Convenient location of LA office in El Segundo

Cons

Not a good place for you if you're not a self starter Roles can get morph on-the-fly because wearing a lot of hats is the norm here Constant growth of client businesses and the company's owned businesses makes for a frenetic pace Resourcing and process improvements are needed Must stay vigilant and vocal about your own time management to get ahead of burn out
