Pros

The Hello Foundation was once a stellar company to work for, run by experienced and knowledgeable staff who understood the value of their employees, until it got bought out by Solace; the former staff quickly jumped ship and were subsequently replaced by those barely out of college.

Cons

Please see above. The new staff are inexperienced, do not understand the concept of efficiency and consistent communication, employees did not have school placements until late August (if that), and people with no leadership experience got promoted to "director" experience but do not value employees. Such a shame to see this respected local company get flushed down the drain. Pardon the pun, but pretty much all former Hello employees have said "goodbye" for good reason.

Pros

Used to truly do things differently than other contracting companies, supportive community of professionals.

Cons

Bought by a healthcare organization with no schools experience (Solace/Care Options for Kids), nearly all long-time employees left or were cut, benefits and all processes got worse, just another mega-corporation now. If you're going to contract in the schools for a big private equity company, do it for one that at least knows what they're doing.
