Pros
Meaningful mission, competitive benefits and compensation
Cons
Leadership communicates poorly and sets unclear, frequently shifting expectations. Work–life balance is minimal, and workload often increases based on your position and how personally favored you are rather than on role clarity or fairness. Staff and residents are often spoken to in dismissive ways, which creates a judgmental and punitive atmosphere. The organization states that it follows Housing First and trauma-informed principles, but in practice many decisions appear to be driven by personal opinions rather than research or established best practices. This undermines both staff morale and the quality of care provided to residents. Many staff leave feeling emotionally exhausted, unsupported, and professionally discouraged. These issues stem from the tone, priorities, and communication style set at the top levels of executive leadership and shape the culture throughout the organization.
