Pros

Worklife balance, employee appreciation lunch, and team building projects were always great. This place is cool for entry-level professionals who are looking for a way into corporate America. You will be provided with resources and tools that will prepare you for your next role. The best thing you can do is work here for about a year long enough to gain some experience and take that knowledge and apply it to a company that will really appreciate, compensate and promote you well! After being here a year you will be annoyed by the lack of leadership, accountability, career growth and favoritism that will exist. So please take my advice and run after a year!! I can promise you the successful people leave and move on to much better opportunities. If you see a person being recruiting into the company you best better believe its because they were unsuccessful at their last job so this place becomes a safe haven. The successful people who are recruiting into the company will most certainly leave within 6 months to a year. or 2 years tops. Why do they leave?? Because they realize this is not a employer of choice.

Cons

There is no real career pathing or long term career growth within the company. They have a very high turnover rate, and there is only a small group of tenure employees there. The office politics are the worst because your success lies in how well you get along with your manager and how much extra work you are willing to take on with no extra pay etc. Oh and you better not complain about the workload or being overwhelmed because your manager won't care. They will listen to you complain but won't do anything about it and if they don't like you they will find a way to push you out. Most of the people in leadership roles have glorified job titles. If you are well liked and don't push back they will happily promote you with a glorified title such as Senior Team Lead/Corporate Travel Scheduling Manager Executive. Most of the tenure employees are people who are washed up in their career and can't find a good job anywhere else so they stick around with their glorified titles and become the office pets. Lastly compensation is low, low low and not competitive with the market. They are not transparent or consistent in pay. Two people with the same title will be getting two totally different salaries.

I'd like to open by saying thank you for this review, but I can't. Here's why...this review is terribly offensive to a great number of dedicated, hard-working, successful, competent and capable people. The people you have referred to above should more accurately be described as people who love what they do, succeed in their roles, work very hard, learn and grow, and make a difference in the lives of the people they represent. Our own internal surveys support the fact that most employees are happy to work for The Jacobson Group. We are sorry that you did not take advantage of the various opportunities offered to get to better know your co-workers and managers, as I think your perspective of them might have differed if you had.

We are sorry to hear your experience with us felt like a "sweatshop". We do have full workloads (as business is great!), yet the vast majority of our staff continue to enjoy a work-life balance of 40 hours per week, typically. Thank you for your feedback and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

It's a consistent and guaranteed paycheck.

Cons

Well for one, all staff was pretty much mandated to go on Glassdoor and give a positive review to offset any negative reviews given.

As Glassdoor continues to grow as a tool for candidates to evaluate prospective employers, The Jacobson Group, like many other companies, is reminding our employees that once a year they can leave a review. As you know, integrity is one of the core values that Jacobson holds dear; and we expect all of our employees to always be honest in their actions and that extends to their recommendations of our company – be it good or bad. We value the perspectives of all of our employees and are sorry that you mistook our recent reminder as a mandate. If you are ever unclear of a company directive, we encourage you to talk to your manager, HR, or another member of the management team.
